Did you know – All our relationships are a mirror into our relationship with ourself.
So what does this say about your relationship with you? Are you in a harmonious relationship with yourself? Or do you find yourself criticizing, holding yourself back, self-sabotaging or simply not in a happy space with yourself, and with others?
When you are truly able to absorb the power of this concept, it will leave no room for judgement, blame, or victim mentality. You will realize that the key to great relationships lies in loving yourself and growing your self-esteem.
Check out my five-day #SelfLove challenge to help grow your self-esteem and love for yourself:
Day #1: You Are Special!
Remember that there is nobody else in this world like you! You are truly unique and have come to Earth to fulfill a very important mission, one that is unique to you. Moreover, you came here to be yourself, and share your love with yourself and those around you.
I hope you can absorb just how special you are. Set this as your cellphone backdrop for the day, so that every time you look at your phone you are reminded of just how truly amazing you are.
Day #2: Time to make a List!
Make a list of any 5 qualities that you think make you a unique person. These could be anything about yourself – your smile, the way you laugh, the colour of your hair, any mannerism or personality trait of yours that are identified and associated with you!
Day #3: Learn to Trust Yourself
Isn’t it amazing how we so easily place our trust in others, but are so unsure of ourselves that we find it difficult to trust ourselves?
Fill in the blank:
“I trust myself to _________________”
This could be about any challenging situation you’re in – trust yourself to do well in it, to survive and thrive through it!
Again, self-trust doesn’t mean that you always trust yourself to say the right thing or make the right decision every time. It’s not about perfection, but rather the belief that you will be okay no matter what, and that you’ve got your back!
Day #4: Forgive yourself!
Look back on the last few years. Are you holding onto any anger, guilt or blame? Time to release it!
You need to realize that you did the best you could in the given moment, and that you’ve come a long way. Holding onto negative emotions can be so bad for you. The key is to forgive yourself and let it go. Repeat this affirmation and remember to truly forgive yourself!
Day #5 – Mirror Work
Look at your reflection in the mirror. What do you see?
Do you see the reflection of your beautiful soul in your eyes?
Saying an affirmation in front of. a mirror can be extremely powerful. Stand in front of the mirror and say “I love and accept myself, fully and totally, just the way I am” and smile. Really feel the vibration that these words bring.
Say this 10 times today.
These 5 activities should really help set the stage for you to love yourself more.
Remember – self-love doesn’t mean you’re narcissistic, instead it embodies a healthy respect for yourself.
Is it easy to practice self-love?
While it can be difficult to practice, self-love is extremely powerful, necessary, and transformative.
So, again, take a look in the mirror. What do you see?
I hope you see the perfection in which the Creator made you. Most of all, be gentle, and fall in love with yourself first!
As the saying goes, You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.
Love and light,
Seemaa
